I had seen a few images on Pinterest of women holding up signs with messages of love to their significant others, and thought I could do a version with our kids! I laid down a nice blanket, got the girls into white/pink outfits and got to work.
My initial concept involved cutting out the letters L-O-V-E from pretty paper and sticking it to a canvas board like so...
...but Eden got too distracted by trying to feel the letters for the photos to work out, so in the end I covered my canvas with white paper from my sketchbook, and then folded a bit of brown craft paper around the centre (to cover the overlapping pieces of sketchbook paper). This was my 'template' I suppose.
I got my girls to lay on the rug holding the makeshift sign, and snapped away!
Of course, it wasn't quite that simple; Ava wanted to wander around, which made getting photos of her quite tricky!
In the end, I got the shots I needed. All you need to do then, is upload them to your editing software, add the lettering for your message, create a collage (to spell desired word/message) and then order from your fave photoprinting shop.
Gotta say, I'm pretty happy with the results, and I can't wait to see what hubby thinks!
Thanks for reading! ~ L.

DeleteThis was a fabulous idea, as usual Lauz! And the photos you got of the girls were so cute. Btw I think you really need to name and shame whoever has been stealing your ideas!! Do it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks hon, always love your encouragement! Thinking about naming and shaming, but I think I'll email her first as a courtesy; if that doesn't go well, I'll say something publicly. Love you xo
